About Viraasa

Some of my earliest memories aren’t of places—they’re of my mother’s sarees.

Opening her wardrobe felt like opening a treasure chest. Every fold held a story. A silk saree she wore at a family wedding, a soft cotton draped on quiet summer mornings, a festive Banarasi brought out only for special occasions. Along with them came the fragrance of memories, laughter, celebrations, and the comforting feeling of home.

I didn’t realize it then, but those sarees were quietly teaching me something beautiful—that a saree is never just fabric. It becomes a part of our lives, our milestones, and our legacy.

That feeling became Viraasa.

Viraasa, meaning heritage, was born from a desire to celebrate India’s rich weaving traditions while creating new stories for today’s women. Every saree in our collection is thoughtfully handpicked—not because we believe in offering endless choices, but because we believe every piece should be worthy of becoming someone’s forever favourite.

From the regal artistry of Banarasi weaves and the ethereal elegance of Kora Organza to the timeless comfort of Cotton, the richness of Mashru Silk, and the intricate beauty of Meenakari and Paithani-inspired craftsmanship, each collection is chosen for its authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal.

As the founder, my journey into Viraasa came after years in the corporate world, where I learned the importance of trust, relationships, and creating meaningful experiences. Those values continue to guide every decision we make. I personally curate every collection with the hope that when you receive a Viraasa saree, you don’t just admire it—you connect with it.

My dream is simple.

Years from now, I hope someone opens their wardrobe, sees a Viraasa saree, and smiles at the memories woven into it—just as I do when I think of my mother’s collection.
